FAQ
Quick answers to the most frequently asked questions about MagicScreen.
What does MagicScreen do?
It's an AI meeting assistant for sales teams. It transcribes your calls live, surfaces real-time insights, suggests sales-script talking points, and turns conversations into notes automatically. See What is MagicScreen?.
Which meeting platforms are supported?
MagicScreen detects meetings in common platforms including Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. For apps that aren't auto-detected, you can start a manual recording from the dock. See Meeting detection and recording.
Which operating systems are supported?
The desktop app is available for macOS. The web app runs in your browser on any platform.
Do I need the desktop app?
Yes — the desktop app is required to detect, record, and transcribe meetings and to show live insights. The web app is for setup, files, billing, and integrations. See Installing the desktop app.
What permissions does the desktop app need, and why?
Three macOS permissions:
- Microphone — to detect when you join a meeting and transcribe it.
- Screen Recording — to identify which meeting app is active.
- Accessibility — to read window titles and detect meeting state. MagicScreen never captures screen content.
See Installing the desktop app.
How many meetings can I record?
It depends on your plan: Free includes 10 meetings/month, Pro includes 100/month, and Ultimate is unlimited. See Plans and billing.
How do I upgrade or cancel?
Open Plans & Usage in the web app. Use Upgrade to Pro to upgrade, or Manage billing to change or cancel an existing subscription. See Plans and billing.
What's the difference between a snapshot note and a Living Note?
A snapshot note is generated once for a single meeting. A Living Note is attached to an account and keeps updating after every meeting linked to that account. See Notes and templates overview.
How does MagicScreen use my uploaded files?
Files marked Insight are indexed so MagicScreen can reference them during calls and in chat. Files marked Script are parsed into talking points for script suggestions. See Building your knowledge base.
Can I use MagicScreen with my team?
Yes — you can work in an organization workspace with shared, per-seat billing. See Workspaces and organizations.
How do I stop notifications from showing while screen sharing?
Use the Hide notifications (eye) toggle on the dock to suppress on-screen insight and script pop-ups during a call. See During a live meeting.
